Harmony Stars Day

The Inland Empire Chorus of Riverside, a chapter of Sweet Adelines International, sponsored our 8th Harmony Stars Day on Saturday, October 17, 2015, hosted by Fontana High School Choral Music Department. This event is part of the Sweet Adelines International (SAI) Young Women in Harmony program which is endorsed by NAfME.

Our clinicians for the day were Parfait quartet and Tomi McEvoy, director of Inland Empire Chorus. About 100 girls worked ahead of time on four songs and came together for a day of vocal and performance education. They took the stage later in the day for a public performance, joined by Inland Empire Chorus for a combined performance of “All About That Bass.”

It's All About The Chords

Inland Empire Chorus (IEC) held its annual show in September at the Universalist Unitarian Church of Riverside. Four-part harmony filled the church as IEC presented “It’s All About the Chords”. The varied repertoire included traditional barbershop, spiritual hymns, popular hits and American standards. Chapter quartets were featured throughout the show. In addition, an instrumental ensemble entertained the audience.

Although it was one of the hottest days of the year, IEC members and their guests braved the heat to hear chords ring and be surrounded by beautiful harmony.

Riverside ArtsWalk

The main purpose of this performance was to promote our upcoming show, but it was not the first time our sounds have graced the ears of Riverside evening strollers.  We had so much fun that it won't be our last!

IEC Light Rail Flash Mob

At Regional Competition in Phoenix this year, we delivered a performance that proved our hard work had paid off. Our score sheets showed improvement in areas noted by past judges, and we were rewarded with a Third Place medal.

We were not staying in the convention hotel and used the Phoenix light rail to travel back to our hotel.  Excited by our performance and always ready with a song, we used the opportunity to express our joy and entertain those traveling on the train with us.
